YES.
Here is a tour of my walk from the subte (subway/metro/tube) to my job at Hebraica, a total of 5 blocks:
First I pass... AMIA, a Jewish center that was the site of a tragic terrorist bombing in 1994, resulting in the concrete baracades in front of the building that now mark the site of Jewish organizations throughout the city. |
A stationary/card story that specializes in invitations for Bat and Bar Mitzvahs. |
Mezuzahs galore! Many of the stores as you walk down the street have mezuzahs as you enter. |
Look at that matzah meal in the window! Here is a Jewish butcher and grocery store. |
"World of the Wigs", a place that sells sheitels to Jewish women in the neighborhood |
Bookstores full of Jewish books such as Sholem Alejeim. |
Chabad (or Jabad if you are in Argentina) house...one of about a dozen in the city of Buenos Aires |
It is fun living and working in a community full of Jewish life!
