I spent this past weekend at a conference with JDC´s leadership training program, Leatid. One of their programs trains community lay leaders. This seminar was the last of four and focused on future scenarios. Seventeen volunteer lay leaders who all are on the boards at their respective schools, clubs, and synagogues participated.
To help prepare for the conference, I translated many slides into Spanish:
"Where have we come from?" Overview of the four seminars and "Paths of Deductive Processes" |
The conference was all about future scenarios, what will be happening in the future that will affect the way we work, the way our communities are structured, and the way we think. There were some very interesting speakers and then time to brainstorm future scenarios in relation to the participant´s communities; for example, how will changes in technology or a huge economic boom and/or crisis affect Jewish schools, community centers, religious communities, etc.
Two "math magicians" (matemagos) entertained us Saturday night with their abilities of squaring extremely two, three, and even four digit numbers in seconds, solving rubix cubes behind their backs, and performing magic tricks with everyday items such as keys, rings, watches, and cards.
We ate delicous food the whole weekend:
And even had a sweet treat before bed:
